The computers on the Apollo missions used a unique kind of memory that wove wires through and around magnets to represent navigation and other programs written in binary. A "1" was represented by weaving a wire through a magnet and a "0" by going around the magnet.

For this activity, your child will weave their initials into a section of “rope core memory” using yarn and cereal.
